What are these

I found these in California by the Oregon border. I picked up a bunch of rocks to polish and noticed the vertebrae.

They look like plioscene bird embryos.

Is that correct?

Welcome to the Forum. :)

Unfortunately, I must agree with Ludwigia, and these are not vertebrae, or fossils of anything, for that matter.

These look like Metamorphic or igneous type rocks to me.

The geology of that area is mainly uplifted basalt and volcanic rock.

I see nothing in these rocks to indicate fossil.

But if you stumble upon a large deposit of a brilliant yellow heavy metallic mineral in nugget form, please PM me with the location. ;)

Not seeing anything I can identify as a fossil.

Sorry, but most look like metamorphic rock.

Yes.  Unfortunately, ... they are rocks, and not fossils.

I don't see anything remotely resembling a fossil in these pictures. :(

As already stated, you should take some of your finds to a local museum or university, and have them looked at by a paleontologist or geologist.

I agree with the rest. There is nothing here that suggests these rocks contain fossils. Ordinary rocks. with some cool patterns here and there.

I'm afraid they are just rocks. But I'm sure someone here would be able to assist in finding fossils in your area, if you asked around.
