I need help with this fossil identification please

I found this in a river bed that was laying in smaller rocks. I'm guessing it's a tooth but I'm not sure.

First and foremost, welcome to TFF!

On to the business. Where was this found? The more information you can provide the more likely someone will be able to help you identify it.

Yes, sorry about that, it was found in north sulphur river. Thank you for the welcome!

Hrm. I'm not particularly familiar with the area. There are certainly others on the site who are, and hopefully they will weigh in soon enough. Tooth seems unlikely to me, but I also don't have a better idea to suggest, so I have to leave this one open-ended until someone more qualified comes along.

Glad to have you on the forum!

Always happy to help out, and even happier to see people enjoying the fossils! Imagine how many people would've walked right over that without even noticing it, let alone learning what it was!
