Beautiful finds, especially that enormous ammonite!  Are you planning on prepping it out further?  If so, I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's done... :popcorn:

Massive ammonite!

Some of the smaller ones are nice too.

Good photos, but looks a little too cold and wet for me.

Thanks for sharing.:)

@belemniten

Sebastian, Natalie glued the bone back together this weekend, but a lot of the smaller parts were lost, they yust crumbled to dust.

do you have an idea of what annimal it could have been?

I think it is a rib fragment, the piece is more or les 20 cm long and 4 cm wide.

the original piece was very long, the imprint in the rocks of the original bone was more than 70cm long, I only got a small part that was still in the bedrock, al the rest was eroded away :(

Okay... Now I'm having doubts about my previous assessment - plesiosaur podials don't really reach 70cm....

the 2 groves on the side of the bone are strange, they were also visible in the whole inprint in the bedrock.

Thanks for tagging me @Manticocerasman !

I am not sure if its possible to ID this bone. At the first glance I even had some doubts if its really a bone ... Can you take a picture of a cross section?

Hi Sebastian,

It's deffinitly bone. We think a piece of rib. The possible candidates are Ophtalmosaurus, plesiosaurus or pliosaurus. Dinosaur can be found there too, but very very rare.

PS: the preparation is not finished, Kevin couldn't wait :blink::D
