While out looking for arrow heads found this

Found In Benton co Arkansas. Looking for arrow heads in a creek. Just looked interesting. The pick with the tape is dry the other wet

Sections of crinoid stem and bits of brachiopod shells, I think.

I understand that the area is mostly Mississipian in age.

Very cool! I'm wondering if it's something to do with criniods? Not sure really but very cool

Yes, I know that material. It is from the St. Joe Limestone, a member of the Boone Formation. These are a couple of pieces I have from Rogers. 

Mine have a mixture of brachiopods, crinoids, bryozoa and a few horn corals.

Thanks for sharing. Not many people post stuff from Arkansas on here. I love Arkansas. I grew up north of Russellville. I sure love the colors on St. Joe material.

 

I found my first trilobite in Siloam Springs, AR. It was so tiny I only realized I had one from looking at it with a magnifying glass.
