noct.strix
Found on a beach in Scotland. Matrix appears to be volcanic. Any clues?

Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. The matrix looks like water worn limestone or dolostone. I agree, crinoid stems in cross section. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Technically, these are not Petosky Stones. These appear to be water worn cobbles, with horn corals or other corals, as well as crinoidal limestone. Some people may call these cobbles with fossils from the great lakes Petosky stones, but unless they are Hexagonaria percarinata, they are not technically Petoskey stones. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
