MrBones
We recently went to Khassab, Oman We went on a tour into the mountains to see some fossils. I would like to know what some of them are. They look like some types of squid with some bivalves.
ynot
Look like gastropods to Me. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." Rockwood
The doughnut shapes are a bit confusing, but the sectioned examples to show gastropod spirals clearly enough.
Al Dente
They look like Nerinea or something similar.
fifbrindacier
I agree with Nerineidae. "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." FranzBernhard
@Rockwood, thanks for pointing it out! You are right, I see them now, too! At the first sight, I have seen they typical shape of the void(?) of nerineas. I have marked one filled with sparry calcite, and another one filled with sediment. Different fillings, oblique sections and partial preservation can produce strange shapes in these gastros. Franz Bernhard
