Rowboater
Headed to the beach hoping the weatherman was right and could get to the edge of the shells piled at the shoreline just out of reach. The wind was predicted from the SW, but was calm then switched to the NE, and the tide stopped falling. The temperature stayed about 5 degrees lower than predicted as well. Couldn't get to the line of shells where I expected the bigger teeth should be, but with the wind causing a slow wash, teeth started appearing and I got a good variety, colorful and in good shape, though no big ones (and no cowshark, think I lost one in the wash). Will post the whale vertebra tomorrow after it dries. Weather is supposed to be warm tomorrow, may try another beach.

Rowboater
Here's the whale vertebra(?) I found; about 2/3 intact with both epiphysial surfaces showing a spongy pattern @Carl? The surfaces of three sides seem somwhat intact (most of the ones I find are just a big chunk of cancellous bone with holes). The oyster cemented on the fourth side and barnacles on the oyster give it more "character"!)

Maybe, but it seems that you are able to get out to hunt very often! Far more often then I. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
Rowboater
Spring can be worse than winter for teeth hunting. I noticed a specimen I picked up and started to toss as an old rusted hollow potmetal tube, common on the beaches, actually had a scallop imprint on one side and a "track" on the other side of the "burrow". Petrified mud/ matrix.
Rowboater
Bad tide timing and an east wind (pushes the water up into the river) so not able to search the shell line where the shrimp coprolites hide out. The hemispristis and tiger shark teeth were jet black when found but unfortunately dried grey; still not much damage, rare for my beach finds. Nubs but no real cusps on my sand shark spikes. I think two small teeth are also tiger shark (?). Nice day for hunting, rain and snow predicted today then Wednesday and Thursday. Tide times (low tides in the dark) and rain (flooding the little creek where I hunt) conspire against me!
