Macabee Fossil Beds Help Elucidate Origin of Pacific Northwest Forests

Firs, cedars, metasequoia and others traced over time. High elevations helped develop temporate forests when the rest of the area was as warm as Florida.

This makes me wonder what will happen to all those hummingbirds etc that live in those high altitude 'islands' in Arizona and that area, as climate gets warmer. Or can those spots possibly get any warmer and drier? I guess the effect will be more noticeable up here in my neck of the woods, with the Vancouver Island Marmot etc.
