Coral or bone?

Found in Cincinnati, Ohio during a parking lot excavation. I know very little about fossils. This is some sort of organic material. Porous, agatized with a bone fragment that looks like a tooth (last photo) in one of the holes. Please advise, Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is based on anything biological like bone or coral but I do recognize the botryoidal (resembling a bunch of grapes) texture of the silicified coating seen in the second photo.

Possibly, our resident mineral expert @ynot can add something further?

Welcome to the forum.

Cheers.

Welcome to TFF!

I agree with a non fossil agate.

It formed on something that has eroded away and left the holes. The "tooth" looks like a random piece of rock that got stuck in one of the holes.

Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys."

Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough."
