Isle of Wight UK - Partial Jaw or tail find?

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone could help me potentially ID what this is? The seller found the fossil on Brighstone beach, IOW but isn't sure if it is a jaw or tail or something so I thought I would post on the forum to see what everyone thinks. I have no idea what it is but I have my doubts its a jaw or a tail...

maybe a partial sacrum from a dinosaur?

Thanks! I have never seen other sacrum fossils from other dinosaurs before so would never be able to spot one. What makes you think it might be that? I just googled sketches of one on the Internet and I see why you might think it is one.

It resembles one I've seen before, I was in Northern Montana in the Judith River fm. and someone spotted one on a hillside likely from a hadrosaur. The gaps between the bones and their general shape remind me of what I saw.

Here is a sacrum of a sauropod.  One usually finds the center which are the vertebrae.

I cannot make much from your specimen.  Trying prepping it and removing as much matrix as possible.

Some additional pictures below but I do agree with you that it needs to be prepped in order to reveal the structure @Troodon I am very doubtful that the seller will prep it but here are pics anyway.

Also the seller has a few other bits that that look the same and are pebbles and may be from the same thing (see end of large one)...not sure what they mean by that. Just looks like random bits to me..very confusing

Any chance of decent close ups of theses areas? D3972828-CD7E-4427-A5A7-2F05BAE19771.jpeg.a3846ef94830494b04c4cbcdc7a7df4e.jpeg

Going to ask now. Sometimes asking for pictures from sellers is frustrating as they just don't do it properly and understand how you want them to take pictures! That is what is happening right now lol

I don't see jaw, tail or sacrum. Can't make much of it really.

Thanks I do agree but it's hard to tell due to the current state of the fossil.

Maybe remind the seller that good images can make a sale.....

I have been hinting at that so hope they send better pictures. Whilst I wait for them to come back to me, I just quickly digitally zoomed into the picture and cropped.

It's hard to tell but the rolled honeycomb pieces could be bits of rolled sauropod verts.

Thanks both I am really not sure what it could be. I guess it's one of those fossils you may have a better idea of when it when you have it in hand and perhaps if more of the matrix is removed.

The person offered me...!!!! I just said personally I can't spend that much as I can't be 100% sure myself what it is. I also think that the specimen requires further prepping which I am not willing to invest the time in doing so as I have no idea at all what I am doing, what tools are required, where to start and how to do it.
