amon81
Hi everybody, I've seen this daspletosaurus tooth, what do you think about that. Is It classificable like Daspletosaurus or indet. theropod tooth? The Sellers says that cane from Hells Creek formation Larfield 60x15mm Thanks
Troodon
Daspletosaurus is not known from the Hell Creek Formation only older deposits. Do you have a specific locality where it was found. Need County and State. If it's HC could be T rex or Nanotyrannus but need better photos with more lighting. What is Larfield? Did you mean Garfield? Troodon
The more I look at this tooth it appears to be a composite in fact almost convinced of that. Why the photos.
Pemphix
Yep, at the first view it looks odd. But as already said, better photos are needed...

Troodon
Thank you for the photos. I find it interesting that all of the photos are from the side with the matrix which covers most of the tooth. However it does confirm my initial thought is this is a composite. I would stay away from it.
CBchiefski
@amon81 Yes I would agree with @Troodon and besides the location not being correct, though that could be a typo, the tooth does seem to be a composite.
LordTrilobite
I agree. It looks like a composite. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
