BenHE
Found an interesting rib-like object in the Calvert Cliffs area. It appears to have bone-like textures but I want to be sure. Is this a fossil rib fragment? If so, I'm assuming a species ID would be impossible from such a small fragment, but any ideas?
Fossildude19
Can we see pictures of the ends of the bone? Pemphix
Despite the foto quality i would lean towards rib-fragment. No ID possible with it IMHO.
Rockwood
I don't claim to be an expert, but my sense is the thickness of dense bone indicates a marine animal. In that area dolphin and whale parts are relatively common finds.
