ID please?

Could someone please ID this fossil from Charmouth, England? It looks like some sort of crustacean. Two of these were found in the same rock. The other one is being acid prepped.

I agree - not one I've seen from there before, with that double sulcus. Acid prepping will dissolve it!

By dissolving do you mean the fossil or the limestone?

Both. Unfortunately, you can't use acid to prep calcium carbonate shells.

Agreed, both with the brachiopod ID and the comments on acid prepping.  Acid will work only on silicified fossils in a calcium carbonate (limestone) matrix, and even then it must be done with care.
