Frightmares
Any ideas on what type of tooth this is? Found it in Hogtown creek in Gainesville, FL. Looks like some type of canine tooth.

SailingAlongToo
Photos are blurry when I try to enlarge them. But, it looks like a dolphin tooth to me. digit
Despite the curve which would make you think canine--the slim nature of this tooth with the slightly bulbous root tickles my search image for dolphin teeth as well. @Boesse could probably seal this tentative ID with an authoritative comment. Cheers. -Ken
sagacious
The photos are fuzzy, but this tooth appears to me to be opossum left lower canine.

That’s what I was thinking too. Here’s a modern lower canine that I have.

digit
I'd say that's a pretty suggestive match. Cheers. -Ken
Boesse
Something seemed slightly off for me but intuitively thought probably some kind of odontocete tooth - but it looks like a good match for Didelphis.
