Fossils from Lyme Regis

Pterygotus

Recommended Posts

Could some please ID these fossils from the classic location, Lyme Regis? The bottom two pictures are from the same fossil and a UV light was used on one of the fossils to help it show up.

Hello,

3 could be an ammmonite

Definitely.

The others are shell fragments (not sure about the first) but I don't think there's enough visible to go much further. A scale would be helpful!

3 looks like a worn stingray tail spine to me. This is one of mine.

No, it's an ammonite, looking down at a section of the outside whorl at the venter with the keel running along the middle and the ends of ribs being visible on either side.
