My Small Fossil and Rock Collection

Hello everyone, I've started organizing my small rock and fossil collection and setting up a display on my desk. I thought I'd put up some pictures of my collection. Thanks for taking a look! If anyone would like to see close up pictures of anything please let me know!

Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!

Thanks! I'm at work right now, but once I get home I'll take more pictures of both, from different angles. Here's two photos of the albertosaurus tooth, although I just purchased it and haven't not yet been able to confirm it actually is labeled correctly from the seller. The other is labeled as a nanotyrannus, and I had it run through the forum a couple months ago to check the i.d.

Awesome collection! What is the tooth to the right of the Albertosaurus tooth?

Thanks! That's a really worn nanotyrannus tooth (or a juvenile rex depending on the results of the ongoing study). One I get home today I'll take some close up pictures of it. :dinothumb: Here's a shot from the seller's listing.

Beautifel collection.

What exactly did this belong to?

Thanks! The large bone is an edmontosaurus mandible, and there are other edmontosaurus tendons and other bones in the matrix. There's also a small troodontid tooth on the surface (I'll take a picture later today). It was dug up by my Aunt in Hell Creek (I'll find out the exact site/location).

Thanks! It's a replica, I'm not really sure what it's meant to be, if anything. Kinda reminds me of a Deinonychus, but I'm not an expert.

I'll tell you something Nick.  If you're in the mood to organize, you are more than welcome to come make some sense of this fossil zoo I call home.  :P

Nice collection indeed. Myself I like a collection that is varied in its make up. I also can’t make up my mind to start a more specialised collection . I have a little bit of mineral, plant, dinosaur, trilobite, ammonites, corals , shark and mammal material. I just call it my natural history collection . You have some very nice pieces thanks for sharing.  All the best Bobby
