Yoda
Am asking obo a friend of mine. I personally have no interest in this item for myself. But thought I would ask here anyway as I couldn't give him an answer. Is the tooth genuine? Is the ID correct? This is the only photo he has sent me. gigantoraptor
Doesn't look like Otodus obliquus to me, rather Striatolamia macrota or a similar shark smaller than Otodus. Most Otodus teeth I saw are far more robust. The tooth seems to be original.
Al Dente
Looks like a Moroccan Otodus to me.
Yoda
Thanks for the responses Comparing to photos on the net Otodus does seem broader than Striatolamia MotM August 2023 - Eclectic Collector
siteseer
Yeah, it's just a small Otodus. A close-up shot would show the bourlette more clearly but from the root shape you can tell it's an Otodus. If it were a sand tiger, the root would have some sign of a nutritive groove as well.
