Any ideas? Yes, I first encountered this fossil while hunting with @jcbshark Here is a thread that describes them... I agree it is a whole lot of stuff for one hunt. And to think that if I stayed a couple more hours how much more I would have found. In the shell layer alone there was enough that I could have spent a whole day just collecting those. Also should mention that I found a bunch of turtle material sitting on top of one of the shell exposures. At first it appeared as if someone had placed the pieces there but after closer inspection I saw that some of the pieces were still stuck in the bank so it must of washed out. I only collected pieces that had the turtle pattern on them and left the nondescript pieces behind. I should have gotten a pic of that as well. Here is the largest shell I collected. I love how it has all those shell bits stuck in the matrix at the opening. I gave some of these shells and misc bone pieces to my God son to get a collection started for him. I am going to make him a Riker display with sharkteeth that i have found at various places as well. 3 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Darktooth
One of my favorite sharktooth finds. Ken spotted it as he handing the sifter over to me. It is about twice the size of the tigers you would find at Calvert Cliffs. The Carcharinus sp teeth are 2 to 3 times the size of Calvert finds. 3 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie. Big ol shells I saw a one or two other big ones but I didnt want to spend too much time extracting them. That cuts into sharktooth time! rebu
Amazing finds, congratulations. What a trip. One trip and so many finds, you just made me realize that I can't call a "collection" what I have at home, must think of a new word for it . Kane
9 hours ago, Darktooth said: What an incredible day (or half day, making this volume of finds even more impressive!). Although the aim was the teeth, I'd have to say this one would occupy pride of place in the collection had I found it. Even finding a modern shell this large without the benefit of deep diving is noteworthy. 2019 is shaping up to be your year, Dave. ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
Andy B
I wanted to mention the shells too. The Whelks are very nice, but some of the little bivalves (clams?) are very nice as well. Good for you!
