Small isolated bone Cretaceous IOW

gms

Recommended Posts

Hi all! Some time ago a friend of mine found what seems to be a turtle bone at Yaverland (Isle of Wight - UK) along with some eroded fish and crocodile remains. Honestly, we have no idea about this small isolated bone.

We'd be very grateful if you could help us. Thanks in advance.

It is a limb bone, to what I'm not sure.

Don't know much about history

Don't know much biology

Don't know much about science books.........

Unsure from photo but does the specimen have a hollow core, as that would rule out turtle.

Looks similar to turtle from my area.

Yes, the proximal end of this bone has a slight hollow core.

Any ideas aside from turtle?

I'm 60% sure that this bone belongs to a turtle
