Seeking possible fossil ID

Dr. Adv. James Clark

Looking for a possible Id of possible fossils on a rock as big as a man's fist. Found it on a solo hike through the desert in Namibia at Terrace bay.

Tidgy's Dad

There is quite a bit of glare on these photos, so I'm far from certain, but looks igneous to me.

Dolerite, perhaps?

Hello, and a very warm welcome to TFF from the other end of the continent. :)

Welcome to the Forum. :)

I'm not getting a fossil vibe from this one.

This may be something geologic in nature - perhaps something like Porphyry?

Wait for some other opinions, though.

Tim is right; it is a porphyry which is a glassy to fine-grained igneous rock with larger crystals. The large light-colored crystals in your rock are probably feldspar.
