This paper has details on Pint's Quarry which is part of the Cedar Valley Limestone in Blackhawk County:

Denison, R.H. 1985

A new ptyctodont placoderm, Ptyctodopsis, from the Middle Devonian of Iowa.

Journal of Paleontology, 59(3):511-522

Here is an excellent monograph on the Devonian fishes of Iowa:

Devonian Fishes of Iowa.
