Both specimens are very weird. Pic one looks like a fossilzed kolache, with a rod type of thing in it. Smooth one has an of centered hole on one side with some crystals inside it. Any help would be appreciated.

Rhizoliths / Rhizocretions / Rhizoconcretions may have features comparable to your specimens, in my thinking.

Abyssunder!! Your awesome man. 100 percent correct on the smooth specimen, but do you still think rhizo on the kolache.?
