Jackson g
I've been home for a few days now, so I've had time to finally prepare and work on some more brachiopods I've had stowed away. 28

Jackson g
Not a brach, but still a pretty shell of a platycerid gastropod.

Jackson g
34 Is a rather nice surface find that probably won't receive any prep. A big sized brach although weathered, with some hash.

Jackson g
37 I like the color difference in this one, you can clearly see where the surface was exposed. Prepped out of the rock it has a nice look as well. I threw in another that's close to being finished, but it's much harder material.
Ludwigia
Thanks for regularly showing us your finds here. Very nice stuff! Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
FossilNerd
Nice! I like the ones where you have gotten them to “pop out” of the matrix showing the negative impression. Especially number 28. I too like this type of display, 28 is pretty special to me as it's one of the few that i have that preserved and shows some of it's internals. I like to think over the months I'm getting better at this.

Jackson g
39 A cool little chert compressed brach, usually they don't preserve this nice from the area I found this one.

Jackson g
I'm drifting away from brachs here again, only because I've been finding more crinoids than anything latley. I probably should have titled the thread something like Jackson's finds lol. These are all pretty much finished besides some matrix clean up to do. First is a crinoid calyx steinkern that cleaned up nice. It took far too long to prep for how small (and fragile) it is.
Jackson g
More calyxs. This one appears to be a Uperocrinus species. I worked both of these next two calyxs to pop out and fit back in their home. I'm sure some will shriek at this practice due to a little damage to the bottom that happened in the process, but I rather like it.
Jackson g
Another steinkern calyx, appears to be a Physetocrinus species. This piece has a cool little Platyceras gastropod coated in druzy also.
Jackson g
41 Back to brachiopods. Just got back from a 3 day camping trip and I found the biggest steinkern of a brachiopod. It's pretty weathered, but fortunately required no prep as it was weathering out from a bluff. It has lovely pyrite crystals covering it too!
FossilDAWG
I'm really impressed with the diversity and size of the specimens you are finding. Don
