DPS Ammonite
It is a real ammonite. What you are seeing is the hardened sediment and crystals that filled the interior of an ammonite. You also can see the coiling of the ammonite. The squiggly lines are the septa that separated the interior chambers. See details of the septa: 2 My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. Tidgy's Dad
It's real and really a rather pretty item. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Crazyhen
I guess it is from Madagascar. A real ammonite, polished.
Ludwigia
This looks to me to be the Turonian ammonite Fagesia peroni. More than likely Moroccan, since it's polished to death, probably from Goulmima. It may still be possible to prep out the center, though, which would make it even more interesting. 5 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. RJB
Interesting and I do like Ludwigia's idea about attacking that center. RB
