judith river fossil, scute?

A weird looking fossil I found last summer in the Judith River Formation.

I'll do the focus field of my camera isnt too big but i'll see what i can do. One of the guides told me it probably was soms sort of reptile acute.

Almost looks like a pine cone.

shoot the photo from further away and then crop it.  It may have a better depth of field this way.  

 

I am with troodon... looks turtle spurish from Basilemys.
