DPS Ammonite
Do you know where and what formation the rock is from? Also, better close up photos that show typical wood grain and growth rings will help convince us. Sometimes you you can get better close up photos by shooting through a hand lens or magnifying glass. My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. See my Arizona Paleontology Guide link The best single resource for Arizona paleontology anywhere. Tidgy's Dad
The state fossil of Arizona is petrified wood and in particular the conifer Araucarioxylon arizonicum. Not saying yours is this mind. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
