Why scour the internet looking for the latest and greatest paleontology news stories when our crowd-sourced version has most of what you want?

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

Surprising. While the American mastodon is best-known Ice Age proboscidean from North America besides the mammoths, little attention has been paid to morphological variation among Pleistocene mastodons found in North America. However, mastodons have been documented from California before, at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles.
