Exercise caution when Sara is hanging out with the first group pictured. When she visited here in SC, thing got quickly out of hand when a group of dinosaurs got together. They never even offered to replace the beer they purloined.

You are right - as soon as they learned that Sara was on her way, I noticed an increased number of secret gatherings connected with a lot of whispering, not to mention that I have already seen some high-percentage beverages disappearing in a mysterious way... I'm guessing the farewell party will be quite a thing.... :)

Sara woke up quite late - no wonder, after such a long journey :)

She asked me to show her around the house, and she paid particular attention to the large house plants

At first I was happy that Sara also enjoys a little greenery around, until I heard her murmur "This one looks delicious".

Sara saw my long face, so she asked if I was really attached to my plants. As I confirmed, she decided to to spare them and instead was happy to be presented with a big bag of various salads

which she finished in a blink of an eye

Now she is resting and chatting with the dino bunch :)

Today was a relaxed day for Sara - first she decided to join me for a mindfulness training online:

image.png.8c79495bd141b3fdb6d4522a6b649a41.png

All the exercises presented during the session were so appealing that Sara immediately decided to put them into practise and went outdoors to relax and enjoy autumn sun and nature:

She was persuaded to come back indoors only when I mentioned the trip that we intend to do - of course each of the local cousins had their own ideas about potential locations:

image.png.8f95672d13962d28a2361c549b2f3be6.png

After a heated discussion  Sara chose the destination of our trip :)

Stay tuned, we set off tomorrow !

That completes the fossil hunting and travels around the area for Sara! I go back to work tonight, which means Sara will be headed out Monday. Sure hope Sara and everyone enjoyed our little adventures here! Thanks for reading, Jackson

Nice report and nice finds, the internal preservation of this brachiopod is amazing !

Not to worry...as prophylaxis, the resident dinos and myself have been administering a daily dose to build immunity. Perhaps it will not be efficacious; but we will be happy!

Dear Sara followers,

here comes the next episode of the World Travelling Dino :)

On Saturday we started quite early to go to Nasiłów, a Cretaceous site located in a very pretty place at the bank of the Vistula River, app. 120 km to the south - east from Warsaw.

image.png.38a6bfea58597a4fd50fad73715f8fe9.png

To get to the quarry, you need to follow a small ravine

image.png.a0a16bd549e58b025390af227b999157.png

If you look under your feet, you can see that the direction is right :)

The dino bunch has immediately started browsing the rubble

however the majority of fossils they found are only steinkerns.

Since the results of our search were so disappointing, we had a brief discussion, what's next

image.png.2b9278879ddb86b0f1130b7d0b3642bf.png

and the conclusion was that we should continue with the next items in the itinerary.

So, we visited the 16th century castle in Janowiec - one of the biggest Renaissance castles in this region:

image.png.97f0fe47ecc5fa3efec42a19e1091d86.png

It is famous for the facade with white and red stripes designed by the Italian architect

image.png.d4074843a88109da70667de5604d5a1f.png

Sara went inside to admire the remains and listen to the history of several reconstructions

After a bit of history and culture, we proceeded to cross the Vistula River in a manner which I quite like - namely using a little local ferry

image.png.23646d2c3d2bc181150b304ff870c5ca.png

Our next site is right at the other side of the river - it's the quarry in Kazimierz Dolny

image.png.9fd2886113c0bdb79600f494a447757d.png

As I was transporting such a VIP as Sara, we were offered the first place in a row on a ferry

The Kazimierz quarry is quite overgrown with various shrubs

image.png.5714cb2bafac002b2b40cb2752df8096.png

and also has a few levels - this time we were climbing up

image.png.e8737fcbd47ff50081e3404098d23c59.png

The quarry is full of orange-coloured stuff (mainly sponges), which kept attracting Sara's attention

image.png.052ea880ea79971abc27231cdd11a697.png

We kept climbing

until we got to the highest level, from which we had a beautiful view of the Vistula River and the Nasiłów quarry as well as the castle we have just visited

image.png.25bda8ac033e6ce54417a7b6aa4efa53.png

The top level was a bit more "uncovered"

image.png.8afa12e4da1ce9b5d622d61372c3cb09.png

and Sara insisted I should have a closer look at the strange orange stuff
