Gen. et sp. indet.
How to tell apart mosasaur and Enchodus teeth? This fragment is 2 mm in length. It has longitudinal striations (not visible on photo) and at least one cutting edge (there might be a second on the other side, but some surface is missing there, and a bit of sediment is adhering), the cross section seems to be oval-to-irregular (but see comment above). The lower part is witish, the upper - redish. Sorry for the poor quality picture. Lower Campanian, marine, southern Poland.
Darktooth
Pictures of different views would be helpful. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
Natalie81
Better pictures are needed and like Darktooth mentioned, from different angles. Are they striations on it?
Gen. et sp. indet.
It took me a while but I'm bringing more photos of the specimen. I'm starting to think it's rather a bone or maybe a plesiosaur tooth... Awaiting your opinions :-)
Carl
Definitely thinking Enchodus. Cross-section, elongated shape, and bone-like interior all point to Enchodus.
frankh8147
I agree with Enchodus.
Natalie81
First I thought Pachyrhizodus but it's more likely Enchodus
