Could some of these corals be Syringopora? Job done, those Atrypa, Cyrtospirifer and other spiriferids are marvelous. Love the corals too, they're pretty good ones. Very successful trip, I would say. I will probably return to the same spot as today. Very nice finds! Looks like you found lots of good stuff. All the rugose and tabulate coral fossils are amazing! The Brachiopods are great and I really like that crystallized specimen. I believe the unknown find is a Bryozoan.
gigantoraptor
I didn't have the time to post the last hunting trip yesterday. I am home again today, so I'll post it now. It was a pretty bad start of the day. I had frozen at night so it was very cold. Then I had to walk 45 minutes through the forest to reach the hunting spot, but the rain had turned most of the forest in mud. I slipped multiple times on my way to the spot. Very painly, since there are a lot of plants with thorns. Anyway, the day got beter when I reached the hunting spot. The weather got beter and the rain had uncovered some new fossils. I didn't find the best fossils but they were decent. Me thinking 'what's this?'. It was a piece of snake skin. (my dad took these when he came to tell me it was time to get home. He didn't really like the 45 minute trip.) The finds: The last fossil of the week. A decent one to end with. And this very broken one. I took it to clean the inside to see what that part looks like. End of the week, but I'll be going back next year.

What's the age/formation? Didn't see that untill you said it I don't know what formation the fossils from the Quarry are from, but they are Givetian in age (first two days) The stuff found on the other days are from the Formation of Barvaux, Frasnian in age. Maybe @TqB can help you with the corals, although he's more of a Carboniferous man. Thanks. It was indeed a great time. One of the best trips ever. Largest is just over 4 inch. On 11-4-2019 at 6:53 PM, FranzBernhard said: Gorgeous brachs!! Congrats and thanks sharing. Most are weathered out so I can indeed just pick them up. 23 hours ago, Tidgy's Dad said: Brachiopods, obviously! Nice finds. Could some of these corals be Syringopora? I did indeed found a lot of cool fossils. The crystallized is one of my favourites. I think the unknown is a Bivalve or something. Maybe @Max-fossilscan tell for certain. He likes bivalves a lot. 9 hours ago, ahuijsmans said: My god that looks amazing! Especially the corals.. love them soo much! He likes bivalves a lot. Whaaaaat??? I have no idea how you came to that ridiculous idea But yeah, I agree, it does seem to look like a flattened bivalve. This stuff is way too old for me to have any good species knowledge on, but bivalve does seem to fit the best. The fact that the radial ribs seem to all be pointing towards an umbo seems very significant (and I also see some concentric ridges). Lovely find with good preservation! Do you know how to distinguish the different kinds of Cyrtospirifer? Nope, but I'll be learning shortly! There are quite a few, but you can narrow it down with age and formation, where known, and then hope that the species there are ones that are distinguished from each other by outer shell morphology and not internal structure.
