Cmal
I don't know if this is a fossilized tooth or not but I thought it might possible be. It's a gentleman's watch fob mounted in 14K gold and dates from the mid to late 1800's. Teeth were commonly used in this fashion but I have never seen a fob with a tooth like this. Can anyone identify it for me? I spent countless hours researching but couldn't find another tooth like it. The tooth is approximately 3/4 inches long. Thank you so much for any help you can provide. The owner could see what time it was and pick his teeth at the same time.

DevonianDigger
I don't know... a crab claw turned into a pendant, is pretty interesting, lol. I don't remember the last time I saw one of those. This one is for a watch fob. Either way, it is astounding what people will make into jewelry. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough."
