Fossil found on Compton bay Isle of wight

Good morning, we found this fossil yesterday on the beach, I’d just like any input as to weather it is indeed a fossil as we are very new to fossil hunting, any help would be very much appreciated.

It's a Leaverite.  Leaverite where you found it.

I still might bring it home for a closer look if I didn't have a lens with me. I have some fish parts that have a tiled like appearance a little like that, (and my eyes aren't what they used to be).
