Sometimes, in our lives, we can be in love with someone or something, that's the case with me now. I made a gift to myself and I'm in love with it. I just want to ask, if the specimen below might be close to one of the Green River fishes. It cames from Austria, but the seller can't remember where it is from. It was bought 20 years ago and kept in good conditions, as reflect the original pictures of the seller. Any idea / confirmation / comment on the margin, will be highly appreciated.
Thank you. :)

I suppose the poo was dropped a few seconds before the fish died. :(

The matrix looks VERY much like Green River. So much that I would say it is Green River. Are you sure it is quarried in Austria?

The OP states:  "It came from Austria, but the seller can't remember where it is from."

Given the abundance of this material, it's probably safe to say it's origins are from the Green River Formation.

So what you're saying is that it didn't come from Austria even though it came from Austria, but it came from Green River because it's abundant in Austria?

No. That's a bit convoluted. Haha.  :D

I am saying that Green River material is very abundant, and sold around the world. ;)

Any gift shop or specialty shop in Austria would more than likely sell these fish from the USA.

Therefore, ... the likelyhood that this is from the Green River Formation in USA is pretty high. :)

Yeah, I know what you meant. Just thought I'd have some fun with semantics. You know, perception of reality IS the reality one perceives.
