after arriving in Utah I was itching to get out and dig. So I found a spot on google and boy did it pay off. I anyone knows what layer it is or what these are please let me know. I can’t do close up of any of the fossils tomorrow if need be.

Ok that would make sense. Any idea what layer. If it helps they were found in Fairview Utah. It’s about 25 miles south of Provo

Not exactly sure what formation but this appears to be Limestone and the fossils I've seen Ely Limestone are marine Permian based so my guess would be Permian. Nice collection. That gastropod does appear to be a Turritella.

See map below.  Since you will be in UT for a while the interactive map may be helpful   https://geology.utah.gov/apps/intgeomap/#

This map has ownership info and will show your location as long as you have cell service.  https://platmap.trustlands.utah.gov/

Nice Finds.

As a kid (many many years ago ;) ) I lived just east of Fairview and did a bit of digging (that's where I got my paleo start). Many of the road cuts thru the valley and hills have fossils galore. Never did get site info (really need to work on that!!). Found shells, scattered fish bones n loose scales east of town.
