This morning I prepped the Mammites nodosides that I got yesterday at the beach of Cap-Blanc-Nez:

Great prep work and fossil. How do you know what to remove? The sediment and the fossil are very similar in color. Also is this the operculum circled in red? Great detail exposed. Is this common to find on these fossils? Thanks.

Thx.

It is not an operculum, but a fossil Inoceramus shell

Excellent! I would have tackled that one first as well.

Thx Roger. I was eager to get starting on this one since it is the first of this species that I brought home :)
