PODIGGER
Another found in the area where a lot of Dugong fragments were. The shape and patterns of the core has me wondering what it might be.
digit
Yup. Solid to the core dugong rib bone. Many times the bone, when seen in cross-section, appears simply solid with no features. Other times the (annular?) growth rings can easily be seen. I tend to keep a couple of examples where the rings are very apparent as it makes for a good story to go along with the fossil. Cheers. -Ken
PODIGGER
Thanks Ken. Was back in the river today and found a few interesting pieces. I hope to post some photos tomorrow as I am not certain what each is. One a possible giant armadillo scute. Jim
