Please help identity

Could someone please help me figure out what this is. I found it by the River in Libby Montana a couple years ago. Just curious what I have,  please and thank you.

From the fractured end, it appears to be a piece of micro-crystalline silica--chert or chalcedony. Not fossil but a cool mineral. @ynot knows his minerals well and may be able to add more.
