Isle of Wight Sauropod Vertebrae

Hi

I purchased this partial sauropod vertebrae and I’m in the process of glueing it back together.

It’s from Brighstone Bay, Isle of Wight and it’s early Cretaceous. The centrum diameter is approximately 6 inches and I’m guessing but the neural spine looks like it would’ve been about 12 inches tall.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an ID.

Thanks

Nick

Hi

I've been doing a bit of research and it’s possibly from a Rebbachisaurid sauropod.

Hard to tell from just a side photo. The tall but thin profile does look a bit like sauropod.

Don't know how I missed this! Looks like just about everyone else did too. Let us know how the prep goes.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
