I found what appears to be a fossilized tooth on the shore of the Tidal Potomac River in MD. Could you help with the identification? Thanks!

Welcome to TFF!

Looks like a rostral tooth of a saw shark.

Pictures of the ends and other side may change this opinion.

Hello, and Welcome to the Forum.  :) 

A few pictures of the other sides,  and back, top and bottom would be helpful.

Right now, with the one picture, It looks like a sawfish rostral tooth (spine) to me. 

Is the base squared/rectangular?
