I took my 7 year old grandson and my stepdaughters boyfriend on their first fossil hunting trip yesterday. We had a blast and some cool finds. The Xipahctinus pectoral fin and other nice fin piece were my finds of the day. My stepdaughters boyfriend found a really nice shark tooth and a mosasaur vert.  My grandson picked up every rock known to man and chased frogs most of the day. Lol

But the important question must surely be : Did your grandson catch any frogs?

Congrats on the great finds all around (including the frogs )!

 

By the way - my daughter and your grandson think alike - if there are frogs around, Viola will stop looking for fossils and begin looking for frogs.  She also likes to find worms - she says she likes how they wriggle in her hands.  I like the T-shirt your grandson is wearing, too - my husband would approve

You rock buddy!! Have you heard the latest on the new water shed construction? I heard the funding is starting to come in. I want to get up their soon before it’s to late!!!

It's still a slow project. I haven't seen any land being cleared yet. They will probably survey for years. I still have plenty of spots once they build it that should still be good. Just message me when that happens and I can help you out where to go.

Thanks for the pics! Havent been able to take the grandkids hunting yet. Looks like a very good time. I remember picking up every rock I passed as well as a kid...well sometimes that happens almost as often now as well! Learned that behavior early on on my own...LOL. Interesting fin!
