Water Level at Whiskey Bridge

Hi,

 

The USGS water gauge for the Brazos River at Highway 21 (Whiskey Bridge) shows the water level at 35 ft.

Will any of the fossil beds be accessible with the water this high?

I did a quick search of the forum and found a relevant comment by MikeD here.  Apparently any level above 18 feet is too high and dangerous.  A colleague of mine has been at the university in College Station since January and she has still not been able to collect at Whiskey Bridge due to incessant rain and high water levels.

I once crawled the very top ledge while the river raged a foot below me. just a short 30 minute stop. Driving back to Austin I had a small panic attack realizing i could have been swept away and never found. Most definitely don’t do it.
