Am curious if this is fossilized wood or something geological? Found near Spanish Point just outside Miltown Malbay in Western Ireland.

I agree, carbonized wood or plant of some sort.

Yes carbonized wood probably from the kilkee cyclothem of the Central Clare Group. Are you on tour in west clare?

+1 wood. Is that more of the same in the upper left of the 2nd photo? It seems to have a radial(?) appearance.
