Big Jaw Bone with Teeth

Bone Daddy

Recommended Posts

This large jaw bone was found in the Peace River (Florida). I don't think it's fossilized, but it doesn't exactly look very-recent either. Surely Holocene I think, although I guess it could be older?

Is it horse? Cow? Something else?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

(The brass scale cube measures 1cm square)

Hi,

It would be better to give the size of your fossils in the text because such a small cube is not a good indicator...

Coco

The sheets of paper the jaw is resting on are almost certainly 8 1/2 by 11 inches so that would help overall size. That's about 21.6 by 27.9 cm.

Hi,

Yeah ? Would that mean the jaw would be almost an 50 cm long ? :zzzzscratchchin:

Yes, unless I'm totally wrong and those are 3X5 index cards instead :P

So if you’re American you don’t know, my observations and my question were justified ! :heartylaugh:
