dalmayshun
I had a chance to stop for a half hour at a roadcut near wax, ky to look for blastoids. While i didnt find any of those, i did find a cool bryazoan, another creature that may be a kind of graptolite, and a silicified section of crinoid. Thanks to those of you who helped me find the area... it is pretty cool. Sometime i'll be able to spend more time there, and i'm already looking forward to it.
Mark Kmiecik
Nice finds. Thank you. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
Sjfriend
Love the crinoid piece. Would be neat to find more and polish them up. The internal detail is nice
ynot
Not much, but nice finds! Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." erose
Just looking at this post a second time. I believe the first image is actually a type of fenestrate bryozoan, not graptolites. Graptolites were made from a type of chiton and this looks calcareous. Fenestrate bryozoans had a front and a back and I think the first image is of the back side of a colony. If you haven't already, take a close look at both with a 10 or 20 power magnifier.
