I'm gonna say this looks fishy as well...maybe another scale or some other fragment? How large is this one?

I agree, ... definitely fish material. Could be a scale.

Could be an operculum, also.

Size would help.

Hey Chris the scale is only about a 1/2'' in diameter...tiny, but there. lol

"D.N.Fossilman" suggested possibly Herring or Anchovy.... a "clupeid scale".

So many brainiacs on this forum...blowing my mind.
