Urban_Monk
Well, "large" for what I have found around here anyway. Found in South Dallas, Texas. It was imbedded in a piece of Austin Chalk that rested right on top of the Eagle Ford Shale. I have found maybe 50ish shark teeth in the area but nothing even close to this size and preservation. I have never tried to identify any of the teeth, but this one intrigues me. Any ideas ? Edited May 27, 2019 by Urban_Monk
caldigger
Nice one. Is there a coating on it?
Heteromorph
Nice shiny enamel! Looks like Cretodus crassidens from the Basal Atco lag bed. One of the larger I have seen.
Urban_Monk
Yes I put a coat of lacquer to seal it. Dunno if I should have but is what it is now.
