PaleoNoel Posted May 29, 2019 Share Posted May 29, 2019 Definitely carnivore, it may be raccoon or otter based on the size, but i'm not so sure about what their dentition looks like. There are smaller canids and felids from the late neogene and pleistocene in the area so there are a variety of possibilities. Nice find either way! ClearLake Posted May 29, 2019 Share Posted May 29, 2019 (edited) That’s an interesting one. I think @PaleoNoel is on the right track. It’s not feline, canine or raccoon. The closest I could come with what I have is river otter (see attached picture of modern one) and it is not an exact match but I think that is the right sort of group based on the shape of the one tooth present.
