PODIGGER
As a new fossil hunter I am thrilled to have found what the Florida Museum of Natural History has determined to be "an important scientific discovery". After notifying the Museum of the find they have asked that the specimen be donated in accordance with Florida law. I am happy to do so. The specimen will be added to state's fossil collection for preservation and research. Specimen specifics: Common/Scientific name - Parietobalaena (Kelloggithere) baleen whale ear bone Geological formation/age - Miocene Region where found - Hardee County, Florida USA Museum/Univ. receiving fossil - Florida Museum of Natural History

PODIGGER
Tim, I have tried several times and several different ways to add the pictures and info to the Gallery page without success. I tried doing it as a "Reply" within the thread of the Gallery link you sent and do not see it posted. Doesn't seemed to have worked. I don't see any place on the Home page to check for it. Also tried clicking on Start a New Topic when in the Gallery thread and that resulted in a new posting in the Partners in Paleontology thread. Please delete this second post. I can't find an edit option to delete it. Also, please advise on hoe to get it in the right place. Thanks, Jim

FossilNerd
That is so cool! As a newer fossil hunter myself, and an avid science enthusiast, my biggest hope is to one day make a meaningful contribution as you did. Congratulations!
