Peace River, Digit or Vert?

Found in the Peace River, Florida, Bone Valley.

 

Is this a digit or a vert? And which species?

 

It feels fossilized, and was found in a spot with other Pleistocene bits.

Not on the Peace River. The formations are not old enough.

Despite the color, it's definitely fossilized. It's very dense and the same spot yielded similarly-colored fossilized pieces. I'm used to finding gator and deer verts, but this one has me stumped.
