NatureLover23
I was interested in purchasing this brittle starfish fossil from Morocco. I've read how there are a lot of fakes out there. I'd really appreciate some insight. Thanks!
TqB
I think they look OK. The carved ones I've seen are much cruder - but wait for Morocco experts to chime in. 1 Tarquin
Wrangellian
That would have been a beautiful specimen if they hadn't taken the scribe to the surrounding matrix... totally unnecessary.
Tidgy's Dad
I agree. They look real to me. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

I agree - fixable with a bit of careful grinding and maybe air abrasive though. And it does give a contrasting colour for the background which I guess is why they've done it. Well Adam, we are all counting on you to go around to every village and set them straight on the athletics of all the butchered fossils they think they are helping look more appealing. It's all on your shoulders to turn this industry around!

RJB
With some careful air abrading, those tool marks can be made to disapear a bit. RB
